The Florida Department of Transportation and CSX Railroad will be closing a portion of SR200/A1A from 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 12th through 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14th for repairs to the railroad crossing near the Yulee Post Office. The Fernandina Beach Library project consists of renovating the existing library building and construction of a new 7,500 foot addition on the north side of the facility.

The first three months has consisted of ground preparation such as removing old asphalt, clearing plumbing and sprinkler lines, and relocation of the phone lines. The ground was leveled and the foundation for the new addition has been poured. The north wall of the existing building has been removed and replaced with a temporary wall. The existing library building is scheduled for three-four months of remodeling and once completed, the temporary wall will be removed and the final floor plan will begin to take shape.

The project is thus far on schedule and is expected to be completed in December 2014.
