Members of the Nassau County Fire Rescue Special Hazards Operations Team (SHOT) recently completed a Vehicle and Machine Rescue Course (VMR) that provided them with new techniques and alternative methods for extracting victims from motor vehicle accidents. This course was the second in a series of five courses that the SHOT Team will participate in to obtain additional certifications and training that will be useful when responding to emergency situations. The first course was the Hazardous Materials Technician Certification Course the Team completed in January 2014.

A big thank you to AB&B Auto in Callahan for providing the SHOT Team with cars and a place to receive this specialized training, as well as to the St Johns County Fire Rescue Special Operations Team for teaching the course.
