Celebrating 25 Years of the Chamber Music Festival

Friends of the Library, Fernandina Beach, has announced an upcoming show at the library in celebration of the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival’s (AICMF) 25th anniversary. 

The show, from December 3, 2025 to January 12, 2026, will showcase a myriad of memorabilia including autographed posters, programs, photos and more. The collection will be sure to stir up nostalgia of past events, internationally known artists and participants. 

An opening reception will be held at the Library on December 3rd from 5:30-7:00 p.m. and will feature live entertainment while you learn all about what the Chamber Music Festival has to offer.

Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale

The Friends of the Fernandina Beach Library will host their Fall Book Sale from November 5 - November 8, 2025, the Peck Center Gym located at 510 S. 10th St, Fernandina Beach. 

Thousands of books will be on sale, all sorted into categories that will make it easy to find your favorite authors and subjects. Whether you like fiction or non-fiction, hardcover or paperback, there’s a treasure trove to pick from that includes mysteries, romance, history, WWII, biographies, memoirs, cookbooks, poetry, gardening, decorating, religion, philosophy, arts, and hobbies.

There are also coffee table books, old and unusual books, large print editions and a selection of children’s and young adult books, CD’s, DVD’s, LP’s, puzzles, and games.  There is something for everyone and most items are $3 or less!

The Book Sale is open for Friends of the Library members-only preview sale on Wednesday, November 5 from 4-7pm. 
Non-members may join at the door to attend.

The Book Sale is open to the public:
  • Thursday, November 6, 9:30am-5pm
  • Friday, November 7, 9:30am-5pm
  • Saturday, November 8, 9:30am-1pm

Whether you’re stepping back into the dating scene or endlessly swiping through profiles, come hear about moving away from the pursuit of “Mr. Perfect” and help you identify “Mr. Perfect For You.” 

This event will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Yulee Library located at 46346 William Burgess Blvd. (inside the FSCJ College).  Expect a delightful blend of humor, heartfelt anecdotes, and proven strategies. Patricia will be selling her book. make sure you get your autographed copy!

Tuesdays & Fridays | 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Please note, we can’t accept:
Textbooks, encyclopedias, dictionaries, torn or dirty books, yearbooks, outdated travel guides, or old technology books.

Every donation helps support library programs and lifelong learning in our community.

Friends of the Library Book Swap

​Are you looking for something new to read? Join the Friends of the Fernandina Beach Library for a Book Swap on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 between 4:30-6:30. Bring up to 5 books to tread and take home the same amount of books to enjoy. 

The event will take place at the Principal's Office - Amelia Schoolhouse Inn at 914 Atlantic Avenue, Fernandina Beach. 

The event is FREE to Friends of the Library members. Non-members are $5, or you can join the FOL at the door. Snacks will be provided by the FOL. There will also be a cash bar available.

Successful Summer Reading Program

9/10/25 @ 4:00 p.m. - The Nassau County Public Library System announced this week that they had a record number of sign-ups for the Summer Reading Program this year with over 300 adults and 500 youth.  Thanks to many amazing local businesses, over 80 of those participants won a prize for completing the program. 

A huge thank you to Library staff and the Friends of the Library organizations for organizing fun and engaging programs for the community. A big thank you as well to Ahan Thai, AMC Theaters, Black Cat Pizzeria, China King, Dreamie Nails & Spa, Fantastic Fudge, Gator’s Dockside, Grumpy’s Restaurant, Hilliard Donuts & Kolaches, Island Time Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt, Jaybird Hammock Farm, Kitchen 251, Lovely You Beauty Parlour, Moon River Pizza, New China Buffet, Pilates of Amelia, Residence Inn, Rita’s Italian Ice, Roasted Rooster, Southeastern Bank of Hilliard, Story & Song, Sweet as Cyn, TD Nails, Texas Roadhouse, The Ranch at Traders Hill, The Train Station, Timoti’s, Walmart of Fernandina Beach, Walmart of Yulee, Willie Jewels, and others across the county for their support.

The Language of Flowers

9/2/25 @ 4:30 p.m. - The Fernandina Beach Library will feature an art exhibit "The Language of Flowers" which features personal expressions about flowers through fiber arts by local artist Barbara Lamp-Peeples.  Barbara passionately combines beautiful fabrics, threads and beads to create award-winning fiber art with an eye for color, texture, and sparkle. 

There will be an Opening Reception on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Robyn Marie Lamp, Barbara's niece and Executive Director of the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival, will perform songs about about flowers. You will also have a chance to meet Barbara and discuss the beauty of her work. 

The Exhibit will be on display at the Fernandina library from September 6 through October 10, 2025. For library hours, please visit www.nassaureads.com.
