Want something new to read? Bring up to five books to swap (fiction or non-fiction) for five other books at our first book swap from 10 - 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at the Fernandina Beach Library meeting room. Refreshments will be served.

 
Each participant can take home the same number of books they bring. The books should be in good shape.
 
The Book Swap is open to all, with the focus on books for adults. 
FOL members are free; non-members will be charged $5 (but the $5 may go towards membership, if desired).

Join us for a night of Egg-citing fun with the Easter bunny. Event includes a scavenger hunt for eggs hidden in the library, along with some fun family activities.

At the Monday, March 24, 2025 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners approved a Proclamation declaring the week of April 6 - April 12, 2025 as National Library Week in Nassau County, Florida.

Libraries spark creativity, fuel imagination, and inspire lifelong learning, offering a space where individuals of all ages can explore new ideas and be drawn to new possibilities. During National Library Week, residents are encouraged to visit a library, explore its resources, and celebrate the ways that the library draws us together. ​The Friends of the Fernandina Beach Library are hosting a book sale at the Peck Center from March 19-March 22. Here you can find thousands of books, CDs, DVDs, audio books, puzzles and more. Members of the Friends of the Fernandina Beach Library can enjoy a special preview sale on Wednesday, March 17, 2025  from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Not a member? You can join at the door!

The book sale is open to the public and Thursday, March 20 and Friday, March 21 from 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 22 from 9:30-1:00 p.m. 

Also, please note that the Friends of the Fernandina Library are also seeking volunteers to help at these events. If you're interested in helping, please email [email protected].

Black History Month

2/11/25 @ 10:30 a.m. - February was declared as Black History Month in February 1976 through a Proclamation issued by President Gerald Ford. Annually, residents around the country celebrate the achievements of African Americans through various events and activities. 

Throughout February, the Nassau County Public Library System will host Black History Read-Ins to encourage communities to read together and celebrate the contributions of African Americans to literature and the arts. During these events, residents are invited bring and share a brief reading (1-2 minutes) from your favorite African American author. However, if you don't want to read, you're welcome to join and listen.
