CareerSource NEFL Hosts ‘Healthcare-Focused’ Hiring Event at Southside Career Center during ‘Recruitment Wednesday’ on Dec. 11
 
Jacksonville, Fla. (Dec. 6, 2024) Job seekers interested in careers in the healthcare industry can talk directly with representatives from five healthcare providers at the next Recruitment Wednesday hiring event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at the CareerSource Northeast Florida (CareerSource NEFL) Southside Career Center, located at 11268 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville.
 
Employers currently scheduled to participate include ScribeAmerica, LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, Right Path Behavioral Services, American In-Home Care and Reliant Management. In addition, the St. Johns Sheriff's Office and Florida State Prison will also take part in the recruitment event.
 
CareerSource NEFL introduced Recruitment Wednesdays in efforts to make it more convenient for job seekers – especially those who may not have easy access to transportation – to meet with multiple employers at a set time and place each week.
 
Job seekers are asked to create a profile on www.employflorida.com prior to the event and can call (904) 997-3100 for more information.
 
In addition, job seekers have free access to computers, phones, fax machines, copy machines and printers – services available Monday through Friday at all career centers – and can receive job counseling, labor market information and other support from workforce representatives.

"The Nassau County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s office has a unique opportunity for a local Veteran. Our county is growing, and we are adding a second Veteran’s Service Officer to our staff.

The VSO will assist veterans and their families in various ways, including providing direction, information and counseling regarding federal and state government benefits and assistance.

To be considered for this position, please note the following REQUIREMENTS. First, the candidate must be a veteran who served as a member of the Armed Forces of the United States who was separated from such service under honorable conditions. Secondly, the candidate must be certified by the Department of Veterans Affairs as meeting the requirements and qualifications prescribed by the department and must attend the State Veterans Officer Course and be certified as a CVSO by the Florida Division of Veterans Affairs within six months of hire.

5/3/23 @ 4:00 p.m. - The Nassau County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Job Fair on Thursday, May 11th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at their office located at 964687 Gateway Blvd., Suite 101-G, Fernandina Beach, Florida. 

Representatives from our Human Resources Department will be in attendance to share information about working for the Board of County Commissioners. UF AND County Seeking Extension Agent for 4-H

The University of Florida and Board of County Commissioners are seeking an Extension Agent I or II for its 4-H Program. 

Nassau County's Cooperative Extension Office is partnership between the Institute of Food and Agricultural Science (IFAS) at the University of Florida and the Nassau County Government created under the 1914 Smither/Lever Act. They provide research-based information to the residents of Nassau County in the areas of Horticulture (care and maintenance of trees, lawn grass, shrubs, plants, vegetables); Family, Consumer Sciences (budgeting, health, wellness, nutrition); Natural Resources (land management, pesticide certification, livestock, and best management practices; and 4-H Youth Development (traditional, home-based clubs, 4-H Leadership).

The position of Extension Agent I or II is a dual position funded by both the University (60%) and the Board of County Commissioners (40%). This full-time permanent status-accruing 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent will plan, develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive and diverse educational programs in 4-H Youth Development, working as part of a team with local citizens, county/state Extension colleagues, agencies, and organizations that are concerned with the needs and well-being of area youth. The Agent will target programs to reflect the county’s population diversity and unique educational needs.
