At the time of her presentation, 6,694 residents had received their first dose of the vaccine and 8,828 had completed their series with both doses. This brings the total vaccinated in Nassau County to 15,522. This data is updated daily at midnight and can be found on the State's website.
Another interesting detail Dr. Seidel shared is that Nassau County has vaccinated 64% of its population over age 65 and that Nassau County is currently the 5th highest in the State for vaccinations of this age group (out of all 67 counties). Great job to the Nassau County Health Department and Nassau County Emergency Management for all their diligent efforts in ensuring that those who want vaccine are able to get them! As a reminder, Nassau County is still following the Governor's Executive Order to administer the vaccine to residents 65 and older, front line health care workers, and assisted living communities. We have not received any information as to when the Governor will open the program up to additional age groups. One Nassau will continue to share information as it is made available to them from the State.
