CLAM Committee Vacancy

​The County is seeking one individual to serve on the Conservation Land Acquisition and Management (CLAM) Committee. The application period ends September 30, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. Candidates should, at a minimum, have skills, expertise, or demonstratable experience that relates to the acquisition of lands in one of the following areas:

  • Natural resource management and biology
  • Agriculture and forestry
  • Community Planning
  • Environmental engineering or civil engineering where work has been in stormwater or green infrastructure projects
  • Environmental regulations, land use law, or commercial real estate in so far that has dealt in vacant, rural lands

Second Annual Halloween Festival

8/25/22 @ 11:00 a.m. - We are excited to announce that Nassau County Parks & Recreation will be hosting the 2nd Annual Halloween Festival on Friday, October 28th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Yulee Sports Complex located at 86142 Goodbread Road. 

We are currently seeking businesses and/or individuals who want to set up booths and distribute candy in our Trick or Treat Alley. There will be prizes awarded for the best booth!

The schedule of events is as follows: 

Gates Open:
5:00 p.m.

Costume Contest (open to children, adults, families and pets): 
5:30 - 6:30 p.m. (no entries will be judged after 6:30 p.m. so please don't be late)


Trick or Treat Alley:
5:00 - 7:00 p.m. 

Bounce houses, face painting, games, hayrides, and concessions 
​5:00-8:00 p.m.

8/25/22 @ 10:00 a.m. - Is your driver's license currently suspended because of unpaid court fines? If so, please note that that the Nassau County Clerk of Court has implemented the Commonsense Payment Plan to help customers comply with court obligations and keep your license.

Waste Tire Amnesty Day

8/25/22 @ 9:00 a.m. - Waste tires are not only unsightly, they are a health hazard for our community. If you have old tires that need to be disposed of, please bring them to the bi-annual Waste Tire Amnesty Day scheduled for Saturday, September 17, 2022. This event allows Nassau County residents to safely dispose of up to 15 car or truck tires at no-charge with proof of residency. All tires must be off the rim and free of debris. No commercial loads will be accepted. 

WHAT: Waste Tire Amnesty Day
WHEN: Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (or until the truck is full.... whichever comes first)
WHERE: Nassau County Convenience Recycle Center, 46026 Landfill Road, Callahan, FL 32011

Mega Adoption Event This Saturday

Are you looking for a pet? If so, please check out the Mega Adoption event taking place this Saturday, August 27th from 11am-4pm at the Yulee Petco. Nassau County Animal Services has tons of beautiful cats and dogs looking for their forever home! All adopted pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and come with an ID microchip.

Congratulations New Commissioners

8/24/22 @ 8:40 a.m. - As a result of the Primary Election, we will have two (2) new Commissioners serving us in November. Please join us in congratulating A.M. "Hupp" Huppman (representing District 2) and Alyson McCullough (representing District 4). 

Each Commissioner will organize their own "swearing in" ceremony in which they will take their Oath of Office and begin their four year term. Information on those dates and locations will be shared as soon as the information is received by the County Manager's Office.
