Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

It's that time of year again! Begin your spring cleaning and bring all unwanted, hazardous items to the Annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event.

Date: Saturday, April 16, 2016
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., or until truck is full (whichever comes first)
Location: Home Depot Parking Lot located on SR200 in Yulee

This is a free service for all Nassau County residents. Types of items that will be collected include:

Pesticides, insecticides, & fertilizers
Paints & paint thinners
Oil filters, used oil & lubricants
Pool chemicals
Fluorescent lamps
Electronics
Batteries
Household cleaners
Corrosives
Propane tanks
Aerosol cans
Used cooking oil
Medications

Animal Services Adoption Event

Nassau County Animal Services will be hosting an adoption event on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Planation Oaks Farm located at 45460 Hodges Road in Callahan.

The adoption fee is $35 and includes vaccines and a microchip. Please call Nassau County Animal Services at (904)530-6150 for additional information.

Notice of Lane Closure on State Road 200/A1A for Saturday, March 26, 2016

The Florida Department of Transportation has sent notification that they plan to have one lane closed on State Road 200/A1A between Mt. Zion Loop and Duval Road from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016, in order for the contractor to build a barrier wall.

2016 Government Day Featuring Egg Hunt, Kids Zone, and Softball Tournament

Please join us for the 3rd Annual Government Day taking place on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Yulee Sports Complex. This year's event will feature three softball games with competitors from various County Offices and Elected Officials serving as commentators and umpires. There will be a FREE Easter Egg hunt sponsored by the Nassau County School Board, as well as a kids zone with bounce house, slide and other exciting activities, all for a one-time entry fee of $5.00.

Nassau County Fire Rescue will be serving hotdogs for lunch. There will also be other yummy snacks including popcorn, sno-cones, and cotton candy, all for $1.00.

Date: Saturday, March 26, 2016
Place: Yulee Sports Complex, 86142 Goodbread Rd., Yulee, FL
Event Time: 11:00 a.m.
Easter Egg Hunt: 11:15 a.m.
Game Time: 11:30 a.m.

All proceeds will benefit four amazing charities: The Katie Ride & Walk, United Way of Northeast Florida, The James S. Page Scholarship Fund, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Previous years have raised thousands of dollars for these charities and we hope to make this year even better!

The report gives an overview of activities that have taken place since the project began in September 2014, as well as activities that are expected to be performed in March.
