We are pleased to announce that the Director of the Office of Management & Budget/Assistant County Manager, Shanea Jones, has successfully completed the Senior Executive Institute (SEI) Leadership Training offered by the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and the University of Virginia.

The SEI Leadership Training is a unique, seven day program for senior local government executives. The program is designed to provide intensive, interactive training on a myriad of topics with the goal of creating an organization that is grounded in basic democratic values and guided by a collective vision of community building. Graduates left the program with a greater understanding of the skills needed to create and maintain a continuously improved organization. The curriculum was designed by the faculty at the University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service and Felicia Logan, ICMA’s Director of Leadership Development.

Ms. Jones began her employment with Nassau County in July 2004 and was named as the Director of the Office of Management & Budget in July 2010. In March 2013, Ms. Jones also earned the title of Assistant County Manager. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of North Florida. She is also a Certified Government Finance Officer.

Ms. Jones’ employment history with Nassau County and her educational background made her a great candidate for the SEI Program. Nassau County Manager Ted Selby stated, “I congratulate Shanea on completing the SEI Leadership Program. By doing so, she has further demonstrated that she has the skills necessary to be an effective leader in our County”.

We commend Ms. Jones for her dedication to professional development and wish her continued success.
