1/8/21 @ 9:30 a.m. - Pictured is a photo taken yesterday showing the progress of Nassau County Fire Rescue Station 71, located at the corner of Chester Road and Heron Isles Parkway in Yulee.
The Board of County Commissioners broke ground on the 8,453 square foot facility on Friday, September 25, 2020. Upon completion, the Station will feature 3 bays with an engine, rescue unit, and tanker. The Station will also house a Batallion Chief to lead the emergency personnel assigned to each shift.
This week, the ceilings were sprayed with insulation and roll-up doors were installed on the bays. Next week, drywall will be installed throughout the facility. Construction is currently on track with an anticipated completion date of April 2021.
