4/16/20 @ 5:25 p.m. - At the meeting held on Monday, the Board of County Commissioners approved Resolution No. 2020-85 in honor of the late Jacob David Berglund.
Jake was a Nassau County resident who passed away on Sunday after a two year battle with Leukemia. Jake was involved in many activities however he is widely known as "Buzz" because he was the Hornets Mascot for both the Yulee Middle and Yulee High School.
Jake touched the lives of everyone he met because of his outgoing personality, infectious smile and his positive outlook on life.
The Board wanted to recognize the impact Jake had on the community so they approved the Resolution honoring him and declaring September 24, 2020 (Jake's Birthday) as "Jacob David Berglund Day". On September 24th, residents will be encouraged to remember this exceptional young man whose life was taken too soon.
