Eight teams played an open scramble format at the OMNI Amelia Island Plantation's Ocean Links Course. The winning team with a score of 59 included Dale Martin, City Manager, Steve Murphy, General Manager of the City of Fernandina Beach Golf Club, and Andy Palmisano, owner of Amelia Island Paint & Hardware. The second place team with a score of 60 consisted of players, Scott Mikelson of the City's Parks & Recreation Department, Bill Pittman of the City's Utility Department, and friends Shannon Barry and David Jeans. The City of Fernandina Beach earned the highly coveted trophy and bragging rights for beating the County four years in a row.
Additional challenges were presented at various holes throughout the tournament. Lance Jones won the "closest to the pin" challenge and David Jeans won the "longest drive challenge", earning them both $20 in Chili's cash. A great time was had by all!
A big thank you to all the players, as well as those who sponsored the event or made donations for the raffle. We greatly appreciate everyone's support because without it, this event would not have been possible.
