DECEMBER 5, 2017
Debris removal on County maintained roads located within the unincorporated areas of Nassau County began on Monday, September 18, 2017. To date, 207,529 cubic yards of debris has been removed from the County rights-of-way.
It is anticipated that all debris in front of residential properties (both construction and vegetative) will be removed by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15th.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS THE FINAL CALL FOR DEBRIS. If you have any additional vegetative debris that has not yet been placed in the right-of-way, the deadline to do so is Monday, December 11th at 5:00 p.m. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.
Both debris drop off locations, the debris email address, and debris hotline will be closing at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11th. If you have any additional debris that you need to notify the contractor about, please email [email protected] prior to December 11th at 5:00 p.m. This is their preferred method of communication. However, if you need to speak with someone, you may also call them at (904) 451-7609.
Just a reminder, FEMA restrictions do not allow the contractor to remove debris from private roads, commercial properties or apartment complexes. Property owners can haul their vegetative debris free of charge to one of the drop off locations listed below, however please keep in mind these sites cannot be used by contractors (property owners only with proof of residency).
- Bailey Road Maintenance Yard in Fernandina Beach located at 3163 Bailey Rd.
- Hilliard Maintenance Yard located in Hilliard at 37356 Pea Farm Rd.
Both sites are currently open from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., seven days per week. But again, both will be closing permanently at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11th.
