Meteor Shower Friday Evening
The Draconid Meteor Shower is our first meteor event of autumn and is best viewed in the evening, not after midnight.
Although rain and clouds might not clear until after 9 pm, the conditions for viewing at that time should be pretty good since our crescent moon will have set before dark.
For your best chance of seeing a meteor, look to the north-northwest and locate the Big Dipper low on the horizon, then follow the path of stars up to just northwest of the Little Dipper - then be patient.
