6/11/18 @ 11:00 a.m. - The Nassau County Health Department has issued a Press Advisory regarding an increase in mosquito borne disease activity in Nassau County, including four horses and one sentinel chicken who tested positive for Eastern equine encephalitis virus (EEEV). The risk of transmission to humans has increased, therefore the Health Department is taking this opportunity to remind residents and visitors to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes and to take basic precautions to limit exposure.
