From Nassau County Emergency Management:
Update 8am Sunday. Tropical Storm Warning in place for coastal Nassau County.
Forecasters from the National Weather Service and National Hurricane Center have adjusted their predictions and now anticipate less impact from Isaias for Nassau County as the storm slowly moves along Florida’s east coast today and Monday.
Impact from the storm will likely begin in the early to mid-morning hours Monday and feel more like a Nor’easter than a tropical storm for our area, with sustained winds predicted in the 25 to 40 mph range and some 50 mph wind gusts possible. Storm surge along our beaches is now forecast in the 1 to 2 foot range.
Rain amounts from 2 to 4 inches could produce some minor flooding in low lying areas of the county.
Nassau County Emergency Management will continue to monitor the storm throughout the day and post an update late this afternoon to keep you informed of any changes.
