Nat Russell is celebrating 20 years with the County this month. Nat began his employment as a Maintenance Helper in the Road Department. He has also served as a mechanic, a truck driver, and most recently, as a sigh tech, where he designs road signs and does road striping. Road Director, Cameron Hansen, stated, "20 years is an amazing span. He has a lot of knowledge about the Road Department. I hope we can keep him for many more years".
Hank Tedder 20 with the Facilities Department is also celebrating 20 years of service. He began his employment in the Road Department and eventually moved over the Facilities Maintenance where he spent 10 year working in the jail. Hank now works outside of the jail conducting repairs and maintenance to other County facilities. Public Works Director, Doug Podiak, stated, "Hank keeps the department going and is just a pleasure to work with".
Two Nassau County Firefighters were also recognized for years of service, however they were unable to attend the meeting. Engineer Jerry Walden is celebrating 20 years of service and to Lt. Pat Cauley is celebrating 30 years of service.
Congratulations to all these outstanding employees. And on behalf of the Board, thank you for all you do for the County and its residents.
