10/17/18 @ 10:00 a.m. - At today's Board of County Commissioner's meeting, the Board recognized Nassau County Road & Bridge employee, Reggie Popham, who will be retiring on October 31st after 33 years of service with the County.
Mr. Popham began his employment in 1985 as a Maintenance Helper for the Road & Bridge Department. Mr. Popham's training and certifications earned him numerous advancements over the years including positions as a Truck Drive, Preventative Maintenance Mechanic, Equipment Operator, Journeyman Equipment Operator, and Foreman. General duties included operation of all types of heavy equipment in construction, maintenance, and repair of roads and right-of-ways, maintaining records of equipment inspections and operations, and training and supervising of employees in lower classifications.
Mr. Popham provided invaluable knowledge, guidance and leadership to his co-workers and those under his supervision and has reflected great credit upon the County. He will be greatly missed by those who had the privilege to work with him, as well as the citizens of Nassau County.
We wish Mr. Popham continued health and happiness in the years to come and truly appreciate all he has done to make this County great!
