From the Nassau County Department of Health:
The Health Department is conducting case investigation and contact tracing on these cases. The individuals will remain in isolation until released by public health. The total case count to date is 838 for Nassau County (799 residents, 39 non-FL residents).
With great sadness, the Nassau County Health Department announces that two additional Nassau County residents with COVID-19 infection have passed away. The patients were an 83 year old male and a 45 year old male. This brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Nassau County residents to seven. The Health Department extends deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones during this time of sorrow.
The Health Department continues to prioritize protecting the health and wellness of the community to ensure these solemn occasions are as rare as possible. Protecting the public’s health, however, is everyone’s responsibility. It is vital that the community continues to be vigilant in following public health recommendations to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 and to protect each other, including those most vulnerable. The FDOH Nassau County Health Department will not release additional details about the individual to respect the family’s privacy during this time of loss.
