On Wednesday, July 23, 2014, Nassau County Fire Rescue Station 70, Tower 20, Rescue 30, and Sparky the Fire Dog participated in end-of-the-year activities at the Boys and Girls Club on Nassauville Road.
Firefighters educated the children about fire prevention and personal safety. As part of the fun, children also participated in a fire truck drawing contest. The top four entrants won new bicycles that were purchased with funds donated by various community outreach programs.
The winners were Hunter Mooney, age 10; Parker Dixon, age 9; Andre Lucas, age 9; and Shi An Gros Ventre, age 9.
