At the Board Meeting on Monday, November 10th, Commissioner Barry Holloway was recognized for his exemplary service to the citizens of Nassau County as a member of the Board of County Commissioners from November 21, 2006 to November 17, 2014. Commissioner Holloway served with distinction and dedication as a member of the Board of County Commissioners and was appointed by his colleagues to serve as Vice Chairman in 2008 and from July 2012 through November 2013. On two different occasions, Commissioner Holloway was appointed to serve as Chairman to the Board of County Commissioners-from November 2008 through January 2010 and from January 2014 to present.
Commissioner Holloway obtained the Advanced County Commissioner certification through the Florida Association of Counties and he also served as the 2nd Vice President, the 1st Vice President and currently President Elect on the Florida Association of Counties Executive Committee. He was the County's representative as a board member on the Northeast Florida Regional Council since 2011 and served on the Planning and Growth Management Policy Committee and the Personnel, Budget and Finance Policy Committee for the Northeast Florida Regional Council.
