Cathy Lewis (middle) with County Manager, Shanea Jones, and Chairman Pat Edwards 2/2/18 @ 10:00 a.m. - At the January 22, 2018 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners recognized Cathy Lewis on her retirement after 30 years of service to Nassau County.
Cathy began her employment on February 1, 1988 as Finance Director for the Clerk of Courts. She was hired as Administrative Services Officer for the Board of County Commissioners on April 2, 2001. Some of her primary duties included preparation of financial statements, implementing and enforcing internal accounting controls, and assisting external auditors in review of financial operations.
Cathy was always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty and served as Interim Administrative Services Director from December 30, 2003 to October 1, 2005. Cathy spent the following thirteen years working in the Office of Management and Budget, holding various positions including Administrative Services Analyst, Senior Budget Analyst, Senior Administrative Services Analyst, Senior Financial Management Analysis, and Financial Management & Budget Analyst.
Cathy performed all her duties in conscientious and responsible manner and Nassau County has truly benefitted from her service and strong work ethic. Cathy's last day of employment was Wednesday, January 31st. She will be greatly missed by those who had the honor to work with her, as well as the citizens of Nassau County.
