As President Elect, Barry Holloway will fill in for the current FAC President, Grover Robinson, as needed. He will also assist President Robinson in overseeing the Florida Association of Counties by directing policy, advocacy, and administration. Together they will focus on preserving and protecting the home rule and will remain committed to keeping services local. When asked about his appointment as President Elect, Commissioner Holloway stated, “I am excited about the opportunity to work with President Robinson on the Board of Directors. Together we will address issues that the various counties in Florida are facing, while insuring Floridians have a safe place to live, work and commute”. Commissioner Holloway is also the first commissioner from Nassau County to serve as President Elect. “I am thrilled about the opportunity to represent my county in this capacity. I will work hard to insure that Nassau County is financially stable and has policies in place to protect its future”.
The Florida Association of Counties is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of one County Commissioner from each state senate district (40); five executive officers; six county commissioners appointed at-large with no more than three of the six from counties with a population of 75,000 or more; and the past presidents of the FAC.
Founded in 1929, the Florida Association of Counties is a non-profit association representing the diverse interests of Florida’s 67 counties. FAC helps counties effectively serve and represent Floridians by strengthening and preserving county home rule through advocacy, education, and collaboration.
