9/11/17 @ 9:10 p.m. - Roadway Update! A lot of trees are down along US-17 causing major obstruction. Crews will not be able to complete removal this evening. The SOUTH END NASSAU SOUND BRIDGE IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!
There is a lot of flooding througout the county, especially on the island and the west side where roads are so severely flooded that officials still haven't been able to do a good assessment. Public works staff will be out there until at least midnight tonight trying to clear major road blockages caused by trees.
Approximately 2500 residents near Thomas Creek and the St Mary's River who signed up for citizen alerts were notified today to expected further flooding over the next two weeks due to GA watershed.
