It also includes information about road projects, special events, adopted policies and procedures, budget discussions, and more! -Sabrina Robertson Communications Officer 5/8/25 @ 2:45 p.m. On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the Board of County Commissioners hosted a ceremony celebrating the opening of new Nassau County Fire Rescue Station 10 on Edwards Road in Yulee. The 8,453 square foot station features three bays with an engine, recue unit, and a tanker. It also contains 11 sleeping quarters, four and a half restrooms, a living room, a kitchen and an exercise room. Built through a public-private partnership with GreenPointe Holdings, the developer for Tributary, this station will greatly improve response times for many incidents and will improve public safety. The event began with an invocation and pledge of allegiance, followed by a message from Nassau County Fire Chief Brady Rigdon, who provided an overview of the project and its benefit to the community. He stated, "This new facility is a great addition to the County and the Nassau County Fire Rescue Department. This location is just over 4 miles from the next nearest location (Station 30 in Yulee) and just over 10 miles from Station 50 (in Callahan). Response times in the area will greatly approve for residents who live here." The next presenter was District 5 County Commissioner Klynt Farmer who thanked everyone for attending this milestone celebration. He stated, "This state of the art facility will provide essential resources and support for the whole county and is a testament to the Nassau County Board of County Commissioner's unwavering dedication to the residents and families we serve daily." Last but not least, Mr. Mike Taylor, representing GreenPointe, spoke about the public-private partnership stating, adding, "We appreciate the opportunity for this partnership. What you see here today is a fabulous facility. It will serve the community for a long time and we hope the County will enjoy this for many years to come. We thank all the men and women that will be serving out of this station. We are truly honored to be part of Nassau County." The Board of County Commissioners is grateful to GreenPointe Holdings for their partnership, not only with construction of the fire station, but also for purchasing the new rescue unit and ladder truck that will be housed at Station 10. Through the developer agreement for Tributary, GreenPointe also provided land and infrastructure for Phase One of Tributary Park which opened in November 2022. Thank you to everyone who came to the Dedication Event. We have two additional fire stations under construction, both of which are anticipated to be done late this summer. We look forward to celebrating with the community again for the opening of these stations. -Sabrina Robertson Communications Officer 5/7/25 @ 4:00 p.m. - Below are photos from the 2025 Shrimp Festival Parade.
