11/5/21 @ 9:45 a.m. - The Florida Department of Health has issued a press release stating that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has endorsed the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices' recommendation that children ages 5-11 be vaccinated against the COVID-19 with the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 pediatric vaccine.
The CDC began distribution of pediatric COVID-19 Vaccinations across the country this week, with plans to scale up to full capacity beginning the week of November 8th. Vaccines will be availalbe at pediatric healthcare provider offices, county health departments, pharmacies, Federally Qualified Health Centers and other participating locations across the state. Through the grant, the department will designate a part-time HBI Road Map Strategist, a public health official working in support and coordination with public health partners across the community. The new Road Map Strategist will conduct a public health needs assessment, train local health officials and key community partners, and lead implementation of public health action on dementia, consistent with the State and Local Public Health Partnerships to Address Dementia.

It is anticipated to remain closed for 60-90 days. During that time, clients will be sent to the Callahan WIC Office located at 45377 Mickler Street, Callahan.
