11/10/20 @ 9:00 a.m. - A new 4-way stop has been installed at the intersection of Simmons Road and First Avenue in Fernandina Beach. This was done following a warrant analysis determining that the intersection meets the criteria of the Federal Highway Administration. Please watch this video to learn more.

11/2/20 @ 2:30 p.m. - Below is a short Public Service Announcement regarding speeding on County Road 108. Following many complaints, the County did a traffic study to County Road 108 and verified that there are many cars exceeding the 50 mph speed limit in this residential area between US 17 and Lessie Rd. The Sheriff's Office has placed a speed trailer in the vicinity to remind drivers to slow down. Beginning this week, they will also be increasing patrol in the area. 10/21/20 @ 2:40 p.m. - Below is a short video from the Waste Tire Amnesty Event held on September 12, 2020. 10/13/20 @ 4:30 p.m. - The Board of County Commissioners and Florida State College at Jacksonville have an agreement that provides for a combined library space available for use by the college and residents of Nassau County. The space was recently expanded and renovated in order accommodate the growing needs of the community. Below is a video providing a sneak peak of the new space. It can be used for accessing online research materials, searching for jobs, building resumes, college admissions testing preparations, downloading e-books, streaming movies and music and more! The Nassau County Library System created this informational video highlighting all the uses for your library card. Take a look and learn more. 8/6/20 @ 5:15 p.m. Please watch this short video to learn more about the Road Department's handy new jet-vac vehicle which can be used for a variety of jobs including removal of water from ditches, vacuuming up debris, and cleaning culverts thoroughly. It can also be used by our water utility department to locate leaks and clean pipes. |
