Detailed view of a sea turtle with a GPS tracking device, crucial for studying migration and conservation efforts Did you know that sea turtles can return to the very same beach where they were born to lay their eggs? After traveling thousands of miles across the ocean, female sea turtles use the Earth’s magnetic field like a natural GPS to navigate their way home during nesting season.
Sea turtle nesting season officially runs from May 1 through October 31, and throughout the season we’ll be sharing weekly Turtle Talk Tuesday messages highlighting fun facts, conservation efforts, and ways our community can help protect these incredible marine animals.
