11/13/24 @ 11:00 a.m. - On Saturday, November 9, 2024, Nassau County Public Works hosted the Waste Tire Amnesty Day Event. This event allows Nassau County residents to dispose of up to 15 car or light truck tires for recycling. A total of 627 tires were collected during the three and a half hour event. All tires will be taken to Global Tire Recycling in Wildwood Florida.
We appreciate Nassau County Public Works for all their hard work in coordinating and working during the event. We also appreciate our residents who took advantage of this opportunity to ensure waste tires are disposed of properly. As a reminder, each household is allowed to bring up to four (4) tires to the Convenience Recycle Center per year at no-cost (proof of residency is required) so even if you missed this event, you still have a way to dispose of them properly. Thank you for ensuring that waste tires do not end up in our waterways or rights-of-ways.
