Following discussion at its Monday, April 27, 2026 meeting, the Nassau County Board of County Commissioners voted to schedule two public hearings to consider a 12-month moratorium on the acceptance and processing of new data center development applications in unincorporated Nassau County. The proposed moratorium would allow the County time to evaluate land use considerations, infrastructure demands, environmental impacts, and emerging state-level discussions related to data center regulations.
The first public hearing is scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., followed by a final hearing on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Both hearings will take place in the Commission Chambers located at 96135 Nassau Place in Yulee.
