Commissioner John Martin presented the Proclamation to Administrator/Health Officer Cara Gluck and other Health Department Officials At its March 23 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) adopted a proclamation designating April 6–12, 2026, as Florida Public Health Week in Nassau County. This annual observance serves as an important opportunity to raise awareness about key public health issues and encourage community engagement in promoting healthier lifestyles. The proclamation also emphasizes the importance of preparedness, particularly as hurricane season approaches, encouraging residents to establish medical plans and become familiar with special needs shelters and pre-registration processes.
Administrator and Health Officer Cara Gluck, along with other professionals from the Nassau County Department of Health, attended the meeting to accept the proclamation and were recognized for their dedication to the health and well-being of the community. Throughout the week, the Department will highlight local programs, initiatives, and resources aimed at improving the well-being of residents, with a focus on topics such as chronic disease prevention, mental health, substance abuse prevention, maternal and child health, and injury and violence prevention.
