Notice of Upcoming Road Resurfacing Projects – River Road and Additional County Roads
Please be advised that work is scheduled to begin this week on the resurfacing of 10+ miles of River Road from the railroad track to County Road 121. This project is part of Nassau County's Pavement Management Program, established in 2021 to support the proactive maintenance of County roadways. The program uses RoadBotic’s RoadSense software to assess roadway conditions, capture virtual imagery, and prioritize maintenance based on data-driven evaluations.
On May 12, 2025, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) authorized Hubbard Construction Company to commence resurfacing work under the Fiscal Year 2024/2025 Budget.
In addition to River Road, the following roads are anticipated to be resurfaced by September 30, 2025:
Traffic Impacts:
Work on River Road will involve periodic single-lane closures, but crews will work to minimize delays. All resurfacing activities will adhere to Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) standards.
