Chris was originally hired as a Maintenance Helper in the Road Department in 2003. Since then, Chris has worked in several positions and has proven himself to be invaluable. For many years, Chris served as the County's only Traffic Signal Specialist where he was on-call 24/7 to respond to traffic light outages. County Manager, Taco Pope, stated, "It didn't matter if it was raining or if it was the middle of the night, he (Chris) would respond. If you think about that in terms of service and value to the citizens and being an unsung hero, that's probably the best way to describe Chris. No matter what position he has been in with the County, he has applied his craft in a professional manner and always had a servant's heart in executing those duties".
Currently, Chris is serving as a Senior Stormwater Inspector for the County's new Stormwater Drainage Department. Stormwater Director, Katie Peay, stated, "What Chris has brought to our department has been insurmountable as far as his years of experience, his knowledge and his work ethic. His customer service is wonderful and it's always a joy to work with him. I'm very proud of the 20 years that he has served for Nassau County".
Congratulations, Chris, on 20 years of service! We appreciate everything you do for the County and its residents.
