Construction continues to progress along County Road 121 as crews advance roadway improvements and drainage infrastructure.
Work Completed the Week of July 27, 2026:
During the past week, the contractor:
- Continued drainage improvements and roadway construction
- Removed temporary traffic signals and barrier walls between approximately 0.38 miles north of Ground Hog Place and Horseshoe Circle South as work in that area progressed
- Continued placing asphalt base and structural asphalt along the project corridor.
Planned activities include:
- Completing subgrade work for the box culvert at Station 406+59
- Installing mitered end sections and drainage pipe
- Continuing asphalt paving between approximately 0.38 miles north of Ground Hog Place and Horseshoe Circle South
- Maintaining traffic control throughout the project.
Traffic Impacts
Single-Lane Operations
Drivers should expect single-lane, alternating traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals as needed between approximately 0.38 miles north of Ground Hog Place and Horseshoe Circle South. Temporary lane closures may occur weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
CR 121 Road Closure
The section of CR 121 between Stokes Road and CR 119 remains closed for roadway construction.
Construction of the box culvert at Station 406+59 (approximately 1.34 miles north of Stokes Road and 0.46 miles south of CR 119) will continue through Wednesday. Property access will be maintained; however, motorists will not be able to cross the box culvert work area during construction.
Beginning Thursday, August 6, the temporary closure at the box culvert location is expected to be removed, allowing traffic to pass through that area once again.
Looking Ahead
Beginning Monday, August 10, 2026, the contractor is scheduled to begin installing another concrete box culvert at Station 54+14, located approximately 0.83 miles north of US 90 and 1 mile south of Horseshoe Circle South.
To safely complete this work, CR 121 will be closed from Balderdash Place to approximately 0.33 miles south of Horseshoe Circle South. Additional information regarding the duration of this closure will be shared as it becomes available.
