Please join us in congratulating three outstanding County employees who have successfully completed their 4-year apprenticeship programs through the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA)!
Ryan Houghlan – Electrical
Jake Johnson and Chris Wyckoff - HVAC
Through NEFBA’s nationally recognized apprenticeship program, these individuals have spent the past four years balancing hands-on, on-the-job training with classroom instruction—gaining real-world experience while earning industry credentials. Programs like these are designed to “earn while you learn,” preparing participants for long-term, high-demand careers in the skilled trades.
From installing and maintaining critical systems to troubleshooting complex challenges, these graduates are now equipped with the knowledge and expertise to support essential County operations and serve our growing community.
This achievement directly reflects the County’s Strategic Priorities, particularly our commitment to professional development, workforce readiness, and expanding opportunities within the skilled trades. By investing in our employees and supporting pathways like apprenticeship programs, we are building a stronger, more resilient workforce that enhances the quality of life for our residents.
Skilled trades professionals are more important than ever, helping meet the demands of growth and infrastructure across Northeast Florida, and we are proud to support that pipeline of talent.
Congratulations again to Chris, Ryan, and Jake on this incredible accomplishment. Your dedication, perseverance, and hard work are truly something to celebrate!
