5/7/20 @ 11:15 a.m. - Last week, the Board of County Commissioners passed Resolution No. 2020-90 in honor of Ms. Joan D. Bean, who passed away on April 22nd.
Ms. Bean was an icon in the City of Fernandina Beach. She was a wife, mother, business owner, and community activist who fought for the downtown businesses and preservation of the island. She was also very active in the community and could always be spotted playing cards, attending monthly Senior Meet & Greets at the Recreation Center, taking water aerobics and smiling at almost any community gathering.
She will be greatly missed by all of us! We urge everyone to continue praying for the Bean family as they suffer the loss of an amazing woman.
